The India National Cricket Team just won the gold medal against their fiercest rival, the Pakistan National Cricket Team, in the Asian Games 2026. After Pakistan’s 19-run loss in the final, an old video of Pakistan batter Hasan Nawaz has resurfaced in which he threatened to hit every Indian bowler when he gets a chance.
India and Pakistan rivalry has been one-sided across men’s and women’s cricket in recent times. The Men in Blue have dominated their arch-rivals across the ODIs and the T20Is. There has been a vast difference in quality among the cricketers in both categories. In the men’s category, India has won all the last five fixtures against the Men in Green.
Hasan Nawaz's old video resurfaces
Back in April 2026, Hasan Nawaz was asked about the bowler he wants to hit and thrash out of the park, and he said he wants to attack all the bowlers of the Indian team, and he also hates all the players from the country. This showcases the bitter rivalry between the two countries over the years.

In that video, which has resurfaced after his 96-run innings, he said, "I think we've to attack the Indian bowlers. I hate every single bowler on the Indian team." Hasan was the lone warrior for the Men in Green in the Asian Games final as he played a knock of 96 runs on a wicket which was a rank turner and took the game close.
Hasan Nawaz record in T20Is and against India
Hasan Nawaz has played just two games against the Men in Blue; this was his first game since the 2025 Asia Cup group stage game, where he failed to perform in Dubai, as he was dismissed for just 5 runs. With the recently played innings against India, he will surely gain some confidence, as it is never easy to score big in a high-octane match.
Overall, he has played 27 matches in the T20I format, scoring 580 runs in the shortest format. He has also scored a century, as he played a knock of 105* runs against New Zealand back in 2025. The top-order batter also has three half-centuries to his name in this format.
India sealed the match at the end
Meanwhile, Shreyas Iyer won the toss and elected to bat first. The no-handshake policy continued between the two sides over diplomatic tensions. Abhishek Sharma went cruising on a turning wicket as he played a superb knock of 61 runs; Tilak Varma’s 51 and Shivam Dube’s 27 runs helped India score 211 runs.
Pakistan National Cricket Team, while chasing, were down and out as they were 39/3 at one stage; Hasan Nawaz then built a partnership with Saim Ayub of 87 runs, but as wickets kept tumbling and Nawaz got no support, they finished off with a score of 192/6, falling 20 runs short of the target.
