Former Indian international Rohan Gavaskar came up with a hilarious take on the photo posted by wicketkeeper-turned commentator Dinesh Karthik alongside the former’s father, the legendary Sunil Gavaskar, on Twitter.

Dinesh Karthik, who is currently in England to commentate for Sky Sports during the English summer, took to his official Twitter account on Friday to post a picture of himself with former opener Sunil Gavaskar from their visit to the ongoing Wimbledon.

Reacting to Dinesh Karthik’s picture with his father, Rohan Gavaskar wrote that just like the Tamil Nadu cricketer replaced him in the Indian team way back in 2004, he has now taken his spot at Wimbledon too.

Karthik made his ODI debut against England at Lord’s way back in 2004 where he replaced the former left-handed batter in Rohan Gavaskar.

Rohan Gavaskar, who made his debut for Team India against Australia during the 2003/04 tri-nation series Down Under, featured in 11 ODIs for the country, the last of which came against Pakistan in late 2004.

“When dk made his debut for India , he took my spot in the playing 11 against England . He has now taken my spot at Wimbledon too ??. Hope you guys had some strawberries and cream and washed it down with some pimms , buddy,” wrote Rohan Gavaskar.

Meanwhile, Rohan’s father, Sunil Gavaskar is celebrating his 72nd birthday today. Born on July 10, 1949, the ‘Little Master’ will go down in the history as one of the greatest-ever to have graced this beautiful game.

An epitome of patience, fearlessness, grit, passion, composure, and the unrelenting drive to bat and bat and bat, Sunil Gavaskar went on to become a man of many firsts during his stellar 16-year-old career.

The first man to breach 10000 runs in Test cricket, Gavaskar also happens to be the first-ever batter to smash 30 Test hundreds. The champion Indian opener, who scored multiple hundreds in the fourth innings of a Test match, called time on his career in 1987, and since then he has been a consistent part of the commentary box.
