Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and South Africa National Cricket Team wicketkeeper-batsman Heinrich Klaasen was angry at his teammate Salil Arora during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 opening match.
Rajat Patidar-led Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are hosting the Ishan Kishan-led Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 opener at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
Phil Salt falls for a low score vs SRH in IPL 2026
The English batter Phil Salt has not been in his best form for a while. However, it was expected that things would change in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 when he dons the RCB jersey and plays on the batting-friendly surfaces.
Phil Salt also received a big confidence boost after the way he fielded in the first innings, as he took three brilliant catches to dismiss Travis Head, Heinrich Klaasen, and Ishan Kishan.
But Phil Salt was unable to replicate his heroics in the second innings and fell for a low score. On the first ball of the second over, he fell for 7-ball 8 off Jaydev Unadkat.
Unadkat bowled a length delivery outside off-stump to Phil Salt, who took an aerial route by swinging hard, but he miscued it towards mid-off. Heinrich Klaasen called for the catch and charged forward to grab it, but at the same time, Salil Arora charged across from cover.
There was a small collision between the duo, which left Heinrich Klaasen angry, but thankfully it didn't cost SRH big as the South African was able to complete the catch. As the camera panned towards Anushka Sharma after the catch, she looked quite dejected.

"He is shaping up quite well" - Official update issued on Pat Cummins
Speaking ahead of the match to broadcasters, the Sunrisers Hyderabad pacer Harshal Patel stated that he prepared very well for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. He said:
"[On playing at Chinnaswamy] Yes, this venue is quite familiar for me. Obviously, playing for a different team now. But at the same time, there is real excitement. Really looking forward to the game.
"[Preparations for the season and against RCB] Well, a lot of preparation has been done. We had a month-long pre-season camp. We have been together since March 1. In terms of planning, the kind of cricket we play, defensive bowling and attacking batting, we will try to play just like that.
Harshal Patel further provided an update on Pat Cummins, saying that he is shaping up quite well and is getting his bowling loads up. He asserted:
"[On using his experience] Definitely, the familiarity factor is there. If you are playing here for the first time but having played a few games here, it will help a lot. [On Pat Cummins] He is shaping up quite well. I think it is just about him getting his bowling loads up. So, it is really good to see him. He is bowling means, he is fit. Hopefully, we will see him soon. [On how important this season is] Every season is important (chuckles)."
