In match no.56 between the Gujarat Titans (GT) and the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, while chasing a target of 169 runs, Abhishek Sharma was played on by Kagiso Rabada and the South Africa gave a fiery send-off to the Southpaw after being hit for six of the very first delivery of his over.
The incident happened during the 1.4th over of the match, after being hit for a six, and then two balls were dots. Abhishek charged down the pitch, but he was cramped with the delivery, and the ball was inside edged, gone off to his body, and flicked the stumps. After the wicket, it was a wild celebration and stare from Kagiso Rabada.
Kagiso Rabada on fire for GT
Kagiso Rabada has been in sensational form this season, leading the chart for the most wickets taken during the Powerplay. Representing the Gujarat Titans, the South African pacer has picked up 16 wickets with the new ball so far. After picking the dangerous Abhishek Sharma, he dismissed Ishan Kishan as well on the score of 11 runs.

Kagiso Rabada, after picking the two big wickets, also picked the wicket of Smaran Ravichandran, with Shubman Gill taking the catch. The Southpaw was back after scoring 9 off 15 deliveries. Rabada finished off his spell with 3/28 in his four overs. He has been one of the key players for the Titans, setting the pace in the middle of the tournament.
Sai Sudharsan stands tall for Gujarat
Coming to the match, GT were invited to bat first on a tricky wicket. They lost Shubman Gill early, and then Jos Buttler also followed back quickly. Then Sai Sudharsan and Nishant Sindhyu stitched a small partnership. The latter was out for 22 runs.
Sai and Washington Sundar then took over the charge and continued to pile up the runs. The former became the first player to score 500 runs in IPL 2026, as he played a superb knock of 61 runs off 44 deliveries.
Sundar also scored his fifty in 32 balls, and some contributions from Jason Holder towards the back end off 11* runs, and Rahul Tewatia, who smacked a four on the final delivery of the innings as GT scored 168/5 in their 20 overs.
Gujarat bowlers are on fire
While chasing, SRH lost Travis Head for a duck in the very first over, dismissed by Mohammed Siraj. Then followed Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan, and the wickets fell like ninepins in the match.
The Gujarat bowlers are on fire as SRH are struggling with the score of 60/7, with all their premier batters back in the dressing room, and captain Pat Cummins is there at the crease and will try to score as many runs as possible. For the time being, Salil Arora is the leading run scorer for the Orange Army with a score of 16 runs.
