Gary Kirsten recently shocked the cricket world as he resigned as the white-ball head coach of the Pakistan National Cricket Team.

He joined the team on a two-year contract in April 2024 and just after six months in the role he stepped down. His sudden resignation has forced PCB to look for new coaches, and for the time being, the red-ball head coach Jason Gillespie will fill Kirsten's role on the upcoming tour of Australia.

Under Kirsten, Pakistan had a terrible outing in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 as they lost to the USA and India to face an early exit from the marquee competition.

Meanwhile, Gary Kirsten's sudden exit came due to the rift between the coach and the PCB. Kirsten, along with Jason Gillespie, were removed from the Pakistan selection committee, and their powers were reduced with the addition of new members to the selection panel. Those members were Aaqib Javed, Azhar Ali, and Aleem Dar.

Reportedly, Gary Kirsten's inputs were not taken into consideration while picking up the squads for the Australia tour, and he felt sidelined. Currently, Saqlain Mushtaq is the frontrunner to replace Gary Kirsten as white-ball head coach, and Aaqib Javed is also in the race.

Another day Another Humiliation for PCB Management - Ahmed Shehzad

The out-of-favor batter Ahmed Shehzad blasted PCB for 'another humiliation' in Pakistan cricket and offered them a crucial suggestion.

Mohammad Hafeez, who also served as the head coach of the Pakistan team, was disappointed with the Pakistan Cricket Board and he took to his X to state, "Total Incompetence #Chaos."
