Steven Smith is all set to take part in Australia vs England ODI Series starting on 17th November (Wednesday). The 2015 Champions would be hoping for a new beginning under their new skipper Pat Cummins as Aaron Finch has bid adieu to the ODI format.

England on the other side would be pumped up after winning the T20 World Cup 2022. They would be well aware of the fact that ODIs are a completely different ball game as compared to T20Is. The defending champions will have a stern task on their hands as their squad has some new faces.

Steven Smith on his future plans

Steven Smith was having an interaction with Daily Telegraph and was asked about his future plans. “No, I don’t have a plan, but I’m 33 now. I’ve been playing international cricket for 13 years. It is a long time. I’m still enjoying it, but I’m certainly closer to the end than the start, that’s for sure.” said Steven Smith.

“I liked the added pressure and responsibility. I probably thrived under it. I’m not sure whether down towards the back end of my career it has taken a toll. I think there’s probably a bit less pressure than there potentially used to be.” he added.

Exciting Series on Cards

England currently is in 2nd position in the World Super League points with 125 points from 18 matches whereas Australia is ain3rd position with 120 points from 18 matches. This Series would be a fascinating one as both the teams have got quality bowling line-ups that can rattle the opposition. All eyes would be on Pat Cummins as this is his first assignment as a skipper.

Australia would be banking on David Warner to score runs in the absence of Aaron Finch. The left handed batter would be quite pivotal to the team as his experience would be invaluable. His new opening partner Travis Head has shown that he can score runs at a good strike-rate. It would be interesting to see how the series fares as we can see some fierce action.
