India pacer Mohammed Siraj has said that though he is not sure whether he’ll get to play in the final of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC), he said that he is determined to bowl as well as possible in the run-up to the all-important match.
Virat Kohli’s Indian team will clash with Kane Williamson’s New Zealand in the final of the ICC WTC from June 18 onwards with the match to be played at the Rose Bowl in Southampton. New Zealand is already in England and preparing in Southampton for their upcoming two-match Test series against England which begins June 2.

I Don’t Know Whether I Will Be There In The Eleven Or Not For The WTC Final: Mohammed Siraj
Siraj has been a completely different bowler ever since he returned from the tour of Australia earlier this year. The lad from Hyderabad picked a five-wicket haul against Australia and even led the Indian pace attack in the all-important series decider in Gabba, Brisbane.
India will be playing in England with a star-studded pace bowling attack including Jasprit Bumrah, Umesh Yadav, Mohammed Shami, and Ishant Sharma. Hence Siraj knows that it will be difficult to slot into the playing XI. But he is determined to make the most of the training sessions and give himself the best opportunity to get picked.

“Honestly, I don’t know whether I will be there in the eleven or not for the WTC final, but I am determined to bowl as well as possible in the run-up to that big game. Of course, if I get a chance to play, that will be the ultimate experience for me and a dream come true,” said Siraj in an interview to the Hindu.
Siraj played in the Australia series under trying circumstances as he had lost his father shortly after arriving in Australia. But he decided to remain in Australia for the Test series and ended up as India’s highest wicket-taker, picking up 13 wickets from three Tests.

“Obviously the last Australian tour was the defining moment of my career which resulted in a complete change in my attitude towards bowling,” he recalled proudly.
Siraj has scalped 16 wickets from five Test matches and will look to add to his tally during the upcoming tour of the UK.
