Dinesh Lad who coached Shardul Thakur and Rohit Sharma has won the Dronacharya Award. Dronacharya Award is considered to be one of the most prestigious sporting awards in India. Recently Dinesh Lad had made a shocking statement about IPL that Indian players should not participate in IPL if the focus is to win T20 WC.

The Men in Blue had a disappointing exit from the T20 WC 2022 where once again questions were raised about the team’s preparation. The team once again failed in the crucial junctions of the match as the team hasn’t won T20 World Cup since the inception of IPL.

Dinesh Lad On Dronacharya Award

Dinesh Lad was having an interaction with ANI and was asked about the award. “It feels great to have received the award. Had Rohit Sharma and Shardul Thakur not performed well, I would not have got this award. I feel I have got this award because of them.” said Dinesh Lad.

“This gives me a lot of happiness. My biggest happiness is that I am getting this award 32 years after my guru Ramakant Achrekar. I can say that one Dronacharya awardee has created another Dronacharya Awardee.” he added.

Stern Test For Rohit Sharma

The Skipper Rohit Sharma has been under the pump for not getting significant runs under his belt. India is all set to play Bangladesh for a 3 Match ODI Series and 2 Test Matches. 2 Test Matches are a part of the World Test Championship (WTC 2021-23) as India would be aiming to register thumping victories.

The Head Coach Rahul Dravid  would be aware that they cannot get complacent as Bangladesh has got nothing to lose.
