Sachin Tendulkar on India vs Pakistan 2003 WC clash

Sachin Tendulkar was seen speaking at the India Today Conclave and revealed the atmosphere before India vs Pakistan WC 2023.

“I had a sleepless night before the match because you know India and Pakistan is always a big game. When people got to know they had started talking about it, saying ‘this game India have to win no matter what happens in other matches’. So, I said what do you mean? There was that pressure, expectations were there.” said Sachin Tendulkar.

Sachin Tendulkar on facing Shoaib Akhtar

Sachin Tendulkar was asked whether he had pre-planned to hit an uppercut shot to Shoaib Akhtar in the 2nd over of the match.

“These kind of shots are not planned, when you see the ball and have time to play then you go for it. That’s exactly what happened. I saw that the ball was a little bit outside the off stump and it was short,”  said Sachin Tendulkar.

India vs Pakistan clash of the 2003 WC was a memorable one as there was a cut-throat competition between the two teams. The Men in Green would be keen to defeat India in the upcoming 2023 ODI WC where Pakistan is yet to defeat India in ODI WCs.
