I Think, After Some Time, Indians Will Say That We Don’t Have Players Like Mohammad Rizwan And Babar Azam – Rashid Latif

Former Pakistan cricketer Rashid Latif has compared the duo of Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam with the Indian cricketers Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul.

Pakistan were dominant in the T20I Cricket throughout 2021 and they recently won the three-match T20I series against West Indies by 3-0.

In the series, Pakistan also chased their highest T20I total of 208 runs. Notably, they completed the chase with more than an over to spare and the opening duo of Babar and Rizwan added 158 runs for the first wicket.

Babar scored 79 runs off 53 balls and Rizwan smashed 87 runs off 45 deliveries. Also, now Babar Azam has smashed 20 fifty-plus scores in T20 cricket in 2021 which is the most by any cricketer.

Meanwhile, the 158 stand during the series against West Indies was the fourth 150-plus partnership of Babar-Rizwan, all of which came in 2021 and it was their second-best partnership after their 197 runs stand against South Africa.

About A Year Ago, We Used To Say That Pakistan Doesn’t Have Players Like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma Or KL Rahul – Rashid Latif

Latif said that a year ago Pakistan fans used to say that they don’t have players like Virat Kohli, KL Rahul or Rohit Sharma. However, he feels now Indians will say that they don’t a player of Rizwan or Babar’s calibre.

“About a year ago, we used to say that Pakistan doesn’t have players like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma or KL Rahul, especially in t20 cricket. but I think, after some time, Indians will also say that we don’t have players like [mohammad] Rizwan and Babar [azam],” said Latif on PTV sports.

Former Pakistan cricketer also lauded the Pakistan opening duo for improving their scoring rate. He asserted: “Earlier, we also had our reservations about their scoring rate but they made up for it by pacing their innings perfectly.”
