ICC brutally punishes West Indies after 7 straight defeats to Australia

The ICC has once again fined a team for a slow over rate; this time, the West Indies are fined 10% of their match fees for a slow over rate in the fourth T20I against Australia.
The fourth T20I of the ongoing series between Australia and the hosts, the West Indies, once again ended in favour of the Aussies. The Men in Yellow have emerged as winners in 7 games straight, while the Windies have suffered not only losses but also the toll of ICC punishments.
West Indies fined for slow over rate by ICC
The T20Is between these two teams might have gone only in favour of the Aussies till now, despite the matches having been very high-scoring, with Australia chasing down 200+ runs successfully on several occasions.
In accordance with Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player support personnel, which corresponds to the minimum over-rate offences, players are fined 5% of their match fee for every over their side fails to bowl in the allotted time phase.
West Indies skipper Shai Hope accepted the sanctions proposed by the ICC match officials, avoiding any further need for a formal hearing on the matter.
Cameron Green makes solid comeback for Australia in T20s
Australian promising all-rounder Cameron Green went on to score three consecutive half-centuries in the fourth straight win for the Men in Yellow. Green returned from injury and made his return in the ICC World Test Championship Final against South Africa.
He also made his white-ball return against the West Indies on this tour. Green has been unstoppable with the bat, as he has scored three half-centuries for the Aussies coming to bat in a new position.
Australia are possibly looking to revamp their squad before the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2026, which will be played in India. The Aussies won their last World Cup title in India, and the players who come over to play in the IPL relish the batting-friendly tracks.
Green's unbeaten third fifty, which came off just 35 balls, helped Australia take a 4-0 lead in the series, after they had already won it in the last game when Tim David scored the fastest T20 hundred by an Australian batter.
Australia include several new names in the West Indies tour
The Australian top-order has been revamped to an extent as well, after Glenn Maxwell was promoted up the order alongside skipper Marsh. Travis Head has been left out of the T20 series against the West Indies.
Aussies have tried several new combinations of batters, as Tim David was recently seen not featuring any further in the fourth T20, which brought in Aaron Hardie into the side. While youngster Cooper Connolly has also been given many chances recently.
Mitchell Owen is among the latest Aussie inclusions after he impressed with his all-round excellence in the shortest format of the game. His recent stint with the Washington Freedom in MLC might have called for his inclusion in the tour. The big hitter kickstarted his career with a half-century on his international debut.
