The International Cricket Council (ICC) is expected to announce the full schedule for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, set to be hosted by Pakistan, within the next few days. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and ICC have requested a written response from India regarding its participation in the tournament.

The ICC has awarded Pakistan hosting rights for the tournament, expected to take place in February-March next year. A total of eight teams will compete for the title in the marquee tournament. The Pakistan Cricket Board has already shared a tentative schedule with other member countries.

ICC Champions Trophy 2025 Schedule Likely To Be Announced Next Week

An ICC delegation is set to visit Lahore from November 10 to 12 to review the preparations for the upcoming ICC tournament, as reported by The Express Tribune. The official tournament schedule for the eight-team event is expected to be announced by the PCB during the visit of the ICC delegation.

ICC CT 2025 is expected to take place from February 19 to March 9. The tournament will be played in Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi. Lahore is set to host seven games, including the final. Karachi will host three games, including one semi-final, while Rawalpindi will host five matches in the event.

ICC Also Has A Plan B In Place - Saleem Khaliq

A sports journalist said that India has been asked to give a written response about participating in the Champions Trophy in Pakistan. Saleem Khaliq revealed that the ICC has a backup plan in case India is hesitant to travel to Pakistan. He confirmed that PCB is likely to announce the schedule next week.

"A clear message has been sent to India to provide a written “yes or no” response regarding their participation in the Champions Trophy in Pakistan. The schedule is expected to be announced between November 10 and 12 in a ceremony held in Pakistan. Matches involving India are planned to take place in Lahore. The ICC also has a Plan B in place," Saleem Khaliq wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

Team India Unlikely to Travel to Pakistan for Champions Trophy 2025

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) wants a hybrid model for their matches in the Champions Trophy, with games held in the UAE or Sri Lanka. Pakistan hosted the 2023 Asia Cup in a hybrid model, where the Indian cricket team played all their group-stage matches and the final in Sri Lanka.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India is awaiting approval from the Indian government for traveling to Pakistan. However, Team India's participation remains uncertain due to geopolitical tensions between the two countries. India has not visited the neighboring country since the Asia Cup in 2008.
