Former Pakistan cricketer Tanvir Ahmed expressed his frustration after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) refused to send the Indian team to Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
The BCCI informed the International Cricket Council (ICC) that they won't be sending Team India to Pakistan after consulting the matter with the Indian government. The ICC conveyed the BCCI's decision to the host board Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
The decision is seen with angry responses in Pakistan. Several former cricketers expressed their displeasure towards the BCCI and the Indian government and slammed them for bringing politics into cricket.

Frustrated Tanvir Ahmed slams BCCI
After the BCCI's decision became official, Tanvir Ahmed slammed the Indian board in a brutal way. Tanvir was visibly frustrated and took to social media to troll the BCCI.
"BCCI ye chorian apney dono hathon main pehan lo (BCCI, wear these bangles on both of your hands)," Tanvir Ahmed posted on X (formerly known as Twitter).

Tanvir Ahmed has previously used derogatory comments against Team India. He is known on social media due to his controversial comments.
BCCI's decision not to send the Indian team to Pakistan has met with some more angry responses from the country. However, the decision was somewhat expected given India's reluctance to Pakistan over the past few years.
Other former Pakistan cricketers slam BCCI's decision
Not only Tanvir Ahmed, but some other former cricketers of Pakistan also expressed their disappointment over the decision and slammed it. Legendary cricketers like Javed Miandad, Inzamam-ul-Haq, and Rashid Latif are some of those players.
Javed Miandad called the whole saga a "joke" and claimed that Pakistan cricket will grow even without playing against India.
“It is a joke that this is happening. Even if we don’t play India at all, Pakistan cricket will not only survive but prosper as well as we have shown in the past,” Miandad said.
Meanwhile, Rashid Latif slammed India for bringing politics into cricket and claimed it to be unacceptable given that all the other teams are ready to travel to Pakistan.
“Enough is enough. When all teams are playing in Pakistan without any problem, this decision by India is purely political and that should be unacceptable in all sports including cricket,” Latif said.
Pakistan government denies the option of a hybrid model
With India denying its travel to Pakistan, the hybrid model seems to be the likeliest option now. PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi moved to his country's government to decide their next step after BCCI's refusal. However, the Pakistani government has reportedly denied the PCB to host the tournament in a hybrid model.
The ICC is in a big dilemma now that its two full members are in a tussle just a few months before the start of the Champions Trophy. With less than 100 days remaining now, the ICC will be looking to resolve the issue quickly and start the tournament.
According to the draft schedule, the tournament will be played from February 19 to March 9. However, since India have denied its traveling, the schedule could be molded now.
