India's teenage batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is taking world cricket by storm with every match he plays. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has now achieved another major milestone as he made a massive jump in the latest ICC Men's T20I Batting Rankings following his Zimbabwe heroics.
India completely dominated Zimbabwe and sealed a 3-0 whitewash in the three-match T20I series, and the 15-year-old batting sensation played a huge role with his fearless batting. His performances have now helped him reach new heights in the updated ICC T20 Rankings.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi reaches career-best ICC T20I Ranking
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi had an outstanding T20I series with the bat. He finished the tour as the leading run scorer with 151 runs in three matches at an average of 50.33. His consistent batting performances earned him his first-ever Player of the Series award in international cricket.
Now, the left-handed batter has climbed an incredible 230 places in the T20I batting rankings to reach a career-best 48th position on the back of stunning performances on the Zimbabwe tour.
It is a massive rise for a player who has only recently started playing international cricket. He now has 536 rating points in the updated ICC T20 Batting Rankings.
World No. 1 Ishan Kishan creates history, surpasses Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav
Meanwhile, Indian wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan remains the No. 1 T20I batter in the world. Kishan had reached a career-best rating after his brilliant knock of 81 runs in the second T20I against Zimbabwe. However, he managed only 35 and 29 in the rest of the two games.
Because of that, the left-handed batter’s rating dropped slightly after the Zimbabwe tour, but he still sits comfortably at the top with 910 rating points. He is followed by the Pakistan batter Sahibzada Farhan in the second spot with 848 rating points in the updated ICC T20I rankings.
Kishan's achievement is special because his career-best rating of 916 points is now higher than the best ratings achieved by his former Indian captains Suryakumar Yadav and Virat Kohli. In fact, only two players in T20I history have recorded a higher batting rating than Kishan.
Ishan has now surpassed all-time records of Suryakumar Yadav (912) and Virat Kohli (909). Overall, Kishan's rating of 916 is now the third-highest in the history of T20I cricket after Abhishek Sharma (931) and Dawid Malan (919) in the chart of best-ever ICC Men's T20I Batter Rankings.
Tilak Varma, Shreyas Iyer and Ravi Bishnoi make big gains
Apart from Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Ishan Kishan, Tilak Varma moved up two places to sixth, while Shreyas Iyer jumped seven spots to 24th in the updated ICC T20I batting rankings.
Spinner Ravi Bishnoi climbed 31 places to 41st in the T20I bowling rankings after the Zimbabwe series. Amid this, Ryan ten Doeschate joins Knight Riders Sports as Head of Cricket Strategy.
Shubman Gill becomes No.1 ODI batter
Meanwhile, the India National Cricket Team skipper Shubman Gill has regained the No.1 position in the latest ICC ODI Batting Rankings. Gill returned to the top spot after his brilliant performances in the recent ODI series in England and Daryl Mitchell’s absence from New Zealand’s recent series against the West Indies.
Mitchell held the top spot since January 2026, but missing the West Indies cost him the crown of the world's number one ODI batter, with Gill once again becoming the number 1 ODI batter. The New Zealander has slipped to the second spot. Gill has scored 188 runs in three ODIs in England.
In the updated ICC ODI bowling rankings, Namibia spinner Bernard Scholtz climbed five places to reach No. 7 after impressive performances in the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2 tri-series against Nepal and the Netherlands.
