Stylish Indian batsman KL Rahul has gained a position to move to the 2nd spot in the ICC T20I rankings for batsmen while South African wrist-spinner has moved to a career-best second position among the bowlers after he claimed six wickets in the T20I series against Pakistan including a four-wicket haul in the final T20I.

Tabraiz Shamsi had a brilliant outing in the recently-concluded three-match T20I series against Pakistan and courtesy of those performances, the leg-spinner has leapfrogged the likes of Adam Zampa, Adil Rashid, Mujeeb Ur Rahman and he is just three points behind the top-ranked Rashid Khan of Afghanistan.

Among the cricketers who have made gains in the latest ICC T20I Rankings update is Pakistan’s wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan. Rizwan, who notched up scores of 104 not-out, 51, and 42 in three outings against South Africa, has zoomed past 116 slots to a career-best 42nd position among batsmen. The talented wicketkeeper-batsman was also named as the ‘Player of the Series’ in Pakistan’s 2-1 series win over the Proteas.

Meanwhile, talented young batsman Haider Ali has moved up 13 places to the 137th spot in the ICC T20I Rankings while ace fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi has moved up five places to the 11th spot in the T2oIi bowler’s rankings. All-rounder Hassan Ali [14 places to 82nd], and the spin duo of Mohammad Nawaz [re-entered at 64th] and Usman Qadir [up 129 places to 92nd] are the other players who have made progress.

As far as South Africa is concerned, Reeza Hendricks by virtue of scoring 98 runs in three matches has moved to the 17th spot while David Miller’s incredible knock of 85* [off 45 balls] in the final T20I has seen him gain seven places and move to the 22nd position, Fast bowler Dwaine Pretorious, who claimed a five-wicket haul in the only game that South Africa won in the series, has moved up from 121st spot in the ICC T20I rankings for bowlers to 51st.

There is, however, no change as far as the ICC T20I Rankings of teams are concerned. Pakistan has gained one point after winning the series but they remain at the 4th spot while South Africa have lost one point but they retain their 5th position.
