India pacer Kranti Gaud has landed in trouble after the Women’s Asia Cup 2026 final against Sri Lanka in Dubai. On Monday, September 14, the International Cricket Council confirmed that Kranti Gaud has been fined 10 percent of her match fee for a Level 1 breach of the ICC Code of Conduct.
The ICC action came after the Indian pacer’s celebration following the dismissal of Sri Lanka opener Imesha Dulani. Pakistan has also faced a separate penalty for a slow over-rate in their semi-final against Sri Lanka at the recently concluded Women’s Asia Cup 2026. Amid this, Mohsin Naqvi unlikely to get another term as ACC chairman after Asia Cup trophy controversy.
Kranti Gaud fined after Women’s Asia Cup 2026 Final incident
Kranti Gaud was fined 10 per cent of her match fee for breaching Article 2.5 of the ICC Code of Conduct. The rule covers gestures or actions after a batter’s dismissal that can be seen as insulting or capable of provoking an aggressive reaction.
The incident happened in the very first over of Sri Lanka’s innings. After dismissing Imesha Dulani, Gaud made a gesture towards the pavilion. She admitted the offense and accepted the punishment, so there was no need for a formal hearing.
