Ajit Agarkar Reveals Who Can Be Reserve Players For India

When chief selector Ajit Agarkar was asked about reserve players, he said that the extra players in the current Asia Cup 2023 squad will be the reserve players. If we filter out the World Cup squad from Asia Cup squad, Tilak Varma, Sanju Samson, and Prasidh Krishan are three players who are not part of the World Cup.

“There are 17 guys, KL is the 18th. So, if you want that cover, those three guys, whether it’s for a keeper, extra seamer or a batter. Tilak is also there with us. This is the best 15 that we have picked. You are not going to change it unless you have to because of injuries,” Ajit Agarkar told reporters.

It is to be noted that since ICC World Cup 2023 takes place in India, the home team can replace players easily in case of injuries. Hence, no players were named as reserve players by India.
