ICC World Cup 2023: Kuldeep Yadav Will Play Big Part For India – Brad Hogg

Former Australia spinner Brad Hogg feels that Kuldeep Yadav will play a big part for India during the ICC World Cup 2023. Brad Hogg also lauded Kuldeep Yadav for his comeback to the Indian national team.

Kuldeep Yadav lost his place in the national team from 2020 to 2022. However, he made a fabulous comeback in ODIs and T20Is for the team. The left-arm spinner gave a consistent performance for the team to become the primary spinner in Asia Cup 2023.

Kuldeep Yadav Will Play Big Role In World Cup: Brad Hogg

During an interview on Revsportz, former left-arm Australia spinner Brad Hogg spoke about Kuldeep Yadav’s role for India in the ICC World Cup 2023. Brad Hogg feels that Yadav will play a big part in ICC World Cup 2023.

“He had a great IPL this year. He has come back well. What defines a player is when someone has been dropped. He has been out of the game, working on his action. He is not falling away as much. He is now getting more revolutions on the ball, and drift as well,” Brad Hogg said.

Hogg, who was also a left-arm chinaman bowler like Kuldeep Yadav, also praised the latter for his amazing comeback in the Indian team.

“I think Rohit Sharma captains him well. He is a fighter. I absolutely love the way he gone about it. Just love the way he has come back into that team and performed straight away. I think he will play a big part in the World Cup. I’d play Kuldeep against Australia,” Hogg further added.

Kuldeep Yadav has also sidelined Yuzvendra Chahal from the national team. Chahal was a regular spinner for India for the last few years in T20Is and ODIs. However, with his amazing bowling show, Yadav replaced Chahal in the Asia Cup 2023 squad.

The left-arm chinaman is also expected to get a place in ICC World Cup 2023 on the back of his marvellous show in ODIs this year. With 22 wickets in 11 ODIs in 2023, Yadav is the leading wicket-taker for India in ODIs since the start of this year.
