Virender Sehwag, the former India batsman predicted the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 semi-finalists ahead of the tournament. Just like any other cricket fan, even the 44-year-old has also started to guess who will be the top four teams in the esteemed tournament.

In a recent interview, the former opening batsman picked four teams on the basis of their playing style. Virender Sehwag reckoned that India, Pakistan, Australia, and England will be the four teams who will play in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 semi-final.

Sehwag further added that England, who are the reigning champions, and Australia are one of the best teams who all can perform well outside their home turf.

Virender Sehwag Picks His Top 4 Of ICC World Cup 2023

“If I have to pick four teams – Australia, England, India and Pakistan. These are the semi-finalists. Australia and England will surely be there because the kind of cricket they are playing – they don’t play conventional shots, only unconventional – these 2 teams are pretty good at it. Also, England and Australia are the two away teams who can play better cricket in the sub-continent,” Virender Sehwag said while predicting ICC ODI World Cup 2023 semi-finalists.

Here’s why Rohit Sharma will be under pressure in ICC ODI World Cup 2023

Rohit Sharma-led India comes on the list of four teams that the former opening batsman has predicted. But still, there will be a lot of concerns that the Men in Blues have to take care of since they have failed to win any ICC trophies after the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy.

India’s trophyless drought continued to last longer after their loss against the mighty, Australians in the World Test Championship (WTC) 2023 Final after India conceded a 209-run defeat against Pat Cummins’ side.

Apart from the dry spell, injury problems have been a major problem for India. Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul who have been regular starters for the Men in Blues are still out of the crease due to injury and there has been no official confirmation regarding the return of the two players.

However, India’s main pacer, Jasprit Bumrah has started to practice on the pitch and is set to make his return in the upcoming Ireland series and will play the ICC ODI World Cup 2023, which has been a relief for Rohit Sharma’s side.

ICC ODI World Cup 2023 will start from October 5th, and India will start its journey on October 8th against Australia. The most awaited match of the tournament, India vs Pakistan will take place on October 14th at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
