Veteran Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik on Tuesday, August 8 claimed that he will make a comeback in the ICC World Cup 2023. The tournament will be played in India from October 5-November 19 with the final scheduled to be played on November 19 in Ahmedabad.

With injury concerns to KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant, Team India is having difficulties in figuring out who can possibly be the wicketkeeper for India in the World Cup. Rahul is likely to be back into the team for the Asia Cup 2023 while there is no update yet on Pant’s return.

Team India are trying out Ishan Kishan and Sanju Samson as their two choices for the specialist wicketkeeper in the XI. Both can bat well which adds to the depth of the batting lineup. Kishan kept in the ODI series, while Sanju Samson kept in the third T20I in Kishan’s absence from the XI. Samson made a few errors behind the stumps in the third T20I.
