The AUS vs SA clash happened in match 10 of the ICC World Cup 2023. The match took place at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow and it had the South Africa Cricket Team written all over it.

South Africa were asked to bat first and they made sure that they utilized the good batting conditions. Quinton de Kock (109) and Temba Bavuma (35) gave their team a solid start as they added 108 runs for the opening partnership. While the captain was back early, the keeper-batter continued his carnage and smashed a vital century.

Rassie van der Dussen (26) tried to up the ante but was back early. Aiden Markram (56) continued his fine form and smashed a vital half-century. Heinrich Klaasen (29) contributed as well which made sure that Proteas were there in the game.

David Miller (17) and Marco Jansen (26) then played some crisp shots in the end and made sure that South Africa ended the innings on high. A combined batting effort powered South Africa to a total of 311 runs. For Australia, Glenn Maxwell was the pick of the bowlers as he picked two wickets.

Australia didn’t get going with the bat at all. They lost wickets in clusters and it didn’t seem that they were in the game. Marnus Labuschagne (46) was the lone warrior for his team as he tried to build the innings but couldn’t score big. Mitchell Starc (27) and Pat Cummins (22) also made contributions but the target was too much.

South African bowlers were all over the Australian batters. Kagiso Rabada was the pick of the bowlers as he bagged three wickets. Marco Jansen, Keshav Maharaj, and Tabraiz Shamsi picked two wickets each whereas Lungi Ngidi also picked one scalp.

This was South Africa’s second consecutive win in the ICC World Cup 2023. On the other hand, Australia have lost two back-to-back games and would be under pressure.
