ICC World Cup Points Table 2023: Updated Standings, Most Runs, Most Wickets After IND vs ENG Match 29

IND vs ENG, which was the 29th game of the ICC World Cup 2023, took place at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. India extended their winning run in the tournament as they thumped the defending champions by 100 runs and won their 6th consecutive game of the tournament.
India were asked to bat first and they were off to a torrid start with Shubman Gill (9), Virat Kohli (0) and Shreyas Iyer (4) back in the hut early. Skipper Rohit Sharma then held the fort for his team and made sure that they didn’t make a mess of the innings. He played magnificently well and smashed a vital half-century.
Rohit Sharma (87) along with KL Rahul (39) then batted well and bailed India out of trouble. After their wickets, Suryakumar Yadav (49) played a vital hand in the end that made sure that India ended with a decent total on the board. Jasprit Bumrah (16) contributed as well as India ended with a total of 229. For England, David Willey was the pick of the bowlers with the figures of 3/45.
England were off to a decent start as Dawid Malan (16) and Jonny Bairstow (14) added 30 runs for the opening partnership. But after that, nothing went in their way as they lost wickets in clusters and were tumbling. Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah made a mockery of the batting lineup and left them tumbling at 81/6.
Liam Livingstone (27) tried to hold the fort but Kuldeep Yadav too got into the act and did further damage. England were bundled out for just 229 runs and suffered their 6th loss of the tournament.

After IND vs ENG Match in ICC World Cup 2023, India bagged the top spot after their 6th consecutive win. England were at the bottom spot. The rest of the table didn’t see any change. South Africa were dropped down to the No.2 spot. New Zealand and Australia are 3rd and 4th respectively.
