"If Nitish Rana Was Still Part Of MI, He Would Have Played..": Rana's Wife Saachi Marwah Supports Post Claiming Partiality In Selection

Saachi Marwah, wife of Nitish Rana, has indirectly alleged that her husband is yet to become a regular for Team India only because he does not play for Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League.
While the left-handed batsman has been doing well in the IPL for quite some time now, he is yet to cement his spot in the Indian team. He has played one ODI and two T20Is so far with all of them coming during India’s tour of Sri Lanka back in 2021.
The Delhi star is yet to earn a recall from the selectors and it would not be very surprising if he does not earn one any time soon. The way things have unfolded in recent times, it has become quite clear that he does not feature prominently in the selectors’ plans.
The Kolkata Knight Riders star could not even make it to the second-string side for the Asian Games. The selectors also named a second-string team for the five-match T20I series against Australia last month. However, Nitish Rana could not make the cut for that series either.
Saachi Marwah alleges partiality as Nitish Rana struggles to earn recall:
Earlier this year too, Saachi Marwah had publicly expressed her disappointment when her husband was not named in the Asian Games squad. On Friday (December 8), she indirectly stated that the southpaw is yet to become a regular player in the Indian team only because he does not play for Mumbai Indians, the team of India captain Rohit Sharma.
She shared a post on X where a user said the same and captioned it with ‘2017’ which is the year in which Nitish Rana made his debut in the IPL.

Nitish Rana has been performing consistently in the IPL in recent years. In his first season, he scored 104 runs in 4 games at a strike-rate of almost 140. Since 2017, he has scored more than 300 runs in every season. Earlier this year, he enjoyed his most prolific IPL campaign as he scored 413 runs at an average of close to 32 and a strike rate of over 140. He also picked up three wickets and led Kolkata Knight Riders in the absence of Shreyas Iyer.
