Nitish Rana's Wife Saachi Marwah Slams BCCI For Partiality Towards Her Husband After Snub From Asian Games Squad

Saachi Marwah, the wife of Delhi star Nitish Rana, has taken an indirect dig at the BCCI and the selectors after her husband suffered yet another setback in his pursuit of earning a recall from Team India.

The left-handed batsman has played one ODI and two T20Is so far with all of them coming during India’s tour of Sri Lanka back in 2021. He is yet to earn a recall from the senior team and is also nowhere close to being called up. A prominent face in the domestic circuit as well as in IPL, Nitish Rana has been a consistent performer in the IPL.

Since 2017, the Southpaw has scored at least 300 runs in every season. This year, he enjoyed his best campaign with the bat in IPL. Nitish Rana scored 413 runs at an average of close to 32 and a strike-rate of over 140. He also picked up three wickets and led Kolkata Knight Riders in the absence of Shreyas Iyer. A reliable middle-order batsman for Kolkata Knight Riders, he had scored 361 runs at a strike rate of 143.82 in IPL last year.

After his consistent displays in the IPL, Nitish Rana would have hoped for a recall from the Indian team, especially after enjoying his best campaign in IPL this summer. However, the selectors had other ideas. While they included a few new faces in the T20I side for the upcoming series against West Indies, Nitish Rana failed to make the cut.

Nitish Rana suffered yet another setback on Friday (July 14) when he could not even make it to the India squad for the upcoming Asian Games 2023 despite the selectors naming a second-string side. And as the middle-order batsman suffered another blow, his wife Saachi Marwah could not stop herself from expressing her disappointment.

She took to Twitter to express her sadness, writing: “You either get bitter, or you get better. It’s that simple. You either take what has been dealt to you and allow it to make you a better person, or you allow it to tear you down. The choice belongs to you.”
