Former Pakistan cricketer Sikander Bakht praises the Indian team for their performance in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. Indian team is yet to lose a match in the ongoing World Cup having won eight out of eight games till now. Their latest triumph came against the mighty South Africa where the proteas got bundled for a meagre 83 against the Indian bowling. Ravindra Jadeja took 5 wickets and Virat Kohli scored his 49th ODI century in that match.

There are a lot of speculations about the conditions favouring the Indian team. The fact cannot be denied that India is getting a home advantage in this World Cup. Former Pakistan cricketer Sikander Bakht addressed this situation by stating India’s performance in the Asia Cup where they bundled Sri Lanka on a score of 50 and Asia Cup was being played in Sri Lanka.

“India played well in Sri Lanka as well. They bundled Sri Lanka on 50 in the Asia Cup final. Sri Lanka were also playing in their home condition,” Sikander Bakht opined on the talk of pitch favouring the Indian team.

‘Indian Team Is Playing Very Well’, Says Sikander Bakht

Sikander Bakht talks about the home advantage and says that playing in front of a home crowd always provides that extra boost. He said that if Pakistan plays in Pakistan, they will also try to make the most of it. He praised the Indian Team’s performance in all departments.

“As far as conditions go, if Pakistan will play in Pakistan, they will try to make the most out of it. But not to forget what Indian seamers did in the Asia Cup final. Their bowling strength is good. Batting is good, Pandya is not available but still, they are winning. Spinners are equally good. This team is playing well. It is obvious that playing in front of the home crowd gives you that extra advantage,” said Bakht.

India has already qualified for the Semi-Finals and not only that, they have confirmed the first position on the points table. This means that India will play the first semi-final game against the fourth-positioned team which can be either New Zealand or Pakistan according to the probabilities. They will play the semi-finals at the historic Wankhede stadium where they won the World Cup back in 2011.
