If There Is A Bilateral Series Between India And Pakistan In Dubai, It Will Be Great For The Sport – Mohammad Amir

Former Pakistan pacer Mohammad Amir has said that it will be great for the sports if the bilateral series between India and Pakistan resumes in the near future.

The last time India and Pakistan met in a bilateral series was almost a decade ago and since then the arch-rivals have only locked horns in the marquee ICC events. The last match between India and Pakistan was played in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 on October 24 and the Babar Azam-led side won the game in a dominating manner by 10 wickets to register Pakistan’s first victory in the World Cup games against India.

Meanwhile, in the latest development Abdul Rahman Falaknaz, the Dubai Cricket Council chairman, gave an offer to host the bilateral series between India and Pakistan in UAE.

Until The Governments From The Two Countries Do Not Sit Down To Discuss Problems, Till Then Third Parties Cannot Do Anything – Mohammad Amir

Former Pacer Mohammad Amir feels that the government from both countries have to discuss their problems otherwise there is no chance that the bilateral series between India and Pakistan will be commenced. He elaborated:

“Until the governments from the two countries do not sit down to discuss their problems, till then the third parties cannot do anything. It also depends on the cricket boards of both the nations and what their thought process is. If all parties agree, and if there is a bilateral series between India and Pakistan in Dubai, it will be great for the sport,”

Meanwhile, Amir, who plays for Bangla Tigers in the ongoing T10 League in UAE, backed the inclusion of cricket in the Olympic games and said:

“Look, cricket is going to be a worldwide game now. After football, cricket is the most followed game, especially in Asia. It’s going to be very exciting if this happens,”

Amir also said that the T10 format of the game can help countries like Russia, Spain and Switzerland to grow in cricket.
