Pakistan fast bowler Ihsanullah, who has been out of action for nearly two years, has announced his boycott of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), vowing never to play in the franchise tournament again after not finding any buyer at the PSL Draft 2025.

The much-anticipated PSL Draft 2025 was held at Huzoori Bagh, Lahore Fort, on Monday (January 13), where even Ihsanullah’s former franchise, Multan Sultans, overlooked the Pakistani pacer.

Multan Sultans owner Ali Tareen blamed the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for the pacer’s current condition, but now he too has left him to his situation.

Recently, Ali Tareen revealed the 22-year-old pacer’s arm will never fully straighten, making it impossible for him to bowl the way he used to due to the scarring from his earlier botched surgery. The Multan Sultans owner had claimed that Ihsanullah could never clock 150 KMPH.

After the players draft, Ali Tareen revealed that Ihsanullah could not perform at his best due to a lingering elbow issue, and that’s why Multan Sultans didn’t sign him. He noted that the pacer has to prove his fitness and fast bowling in the domestic season before playing a full season in the PSL.

Multan Sultans owner Ali Tareen stated: “It's too early for Ihsanullah to play an entire tournament. The doctors confirmed to us that he won't be able to bend his elbow the way he used to do in the past. He has to play a complete domestic season and prove that he can bowl fast once again.”

I am boycotting the PSL: Ihsanullah

Frustrated by the lack of support and comments from Ali Tareen, Ihsanullah has announced his retirement from the Pakistan Super League (PSL) following his snub in the PSL Draft 2025. Ihsanullah criticized Multan Sultans' owner and called him selfish.

The Pakistan bowler stated he will never return to the PSL while accusing Tareen of abandoning him for someone else. He said that the franchise never supported him, instead enjoying his struggles and downfall and making the most of him to grab the headlines in Pakistan.

The pacer said on the public news: “I am boycotting the PSL. The people are so selfish. I don't want to play franchise cricket anymore in Pakistan. As long as I am alive, I will not play in the PSL. No one contacted me. The world is so selfish. Now, he (Tareen) has found someone else, and he is going after him. He was only supporting my downfall and enjoying how my career was ruining.”
