Jasprit Bumrah, on Tuesday (July 18), dropped a huge hint about his much-awaited return to international cricket ahead of the Asia Cup and the World Cup.

The India pace spearhead has been on the sidelines for almost a year due to injuries. Jasprit Bumrah has not played any competitive game since the Hyderabad T20I against Australia in September last year. The right-arm pacer was named in India’s squad for the white-ball series against South Africa but pulled out due to a stress reaction in his lower back.

Later in January this year, he was named in the India squad for the home ODI series against Sri Lanka. However, Jasprit Bumrah pulled out after experiencing pain in his back once again. The setback forced him to miss the home Test series against Australia, IPL 2023 as well as the World Test Championship final in England.

In March this year, he underwent back surgery in New Zealand before visiting the National Cricket Academy for his rehabilitation.

Jasprit Bumrah delivers huge update:

As the Indian cricket fraternity eagerly waits for Jasprit Bumrah’s return, the pacer has delivered a very promising update. While reports stated that the BCCI was hoping for Jasprit Bumrah to resume bowling in August, the 29-year-old has already started it.

He took to Instagram to post a clip where he could be seen bowling. Tagging the Indian cricket team in his post, he posted the following clip on his social media handle.

While he is unlikely to return quickly, one can expect Jasprit Bumrah to be ready for the Asia Cup in August if everything goes well. The Asia Cup will give him some much-needed match practice ahead of the ICC World Cup 2023 at home where he is expected to lead India’s pace attack.
