Pacer Porel gets praised by Bengal coach

“He’s in great form at the moment. He’s bowling deliveries that can get big batsmen out, like a KL Rahul or Virat Kohli. He’s bowling in that channel.” said Bengal coach Arun Lal

Lal said that Porel doesn’t bowl too many loose balls. According to Lal, his ward tests the batter all the time. Being economical has been an added feature. The 21-year-old has played 20 First Class games and has already scalped 53 wickets.

Porel on Bengal’s plan for KL Rahul

Porel had earlier stated that his side had chalked out a plan against KL Rahul. The India international flew back to India to take part in the knock-out contest.

“He (Rahul) is a lot more calm and composed. He has got all the time to play the ball. He faces 140kmph bowling all the time. It was easy for him here. He got out to a poor shot because we showed a lot of discipline in our bowling. We are happy that he could not go after us and consumed 67 deliveries for his 26,” Porel said.

Devdutt Padikkal remained unbeaten on 50* at stumps. He will have the experience of Manish Pandey at the other end, who will start the day on 11. Porel was promising during the India A tour of New Zealand. The youngster will play under the leadership of Rahul in the IPL as he has been picked by Kings XI Punjab.
