Team India all-rounder Hardik Pandya provided a positive update about an injury sustained during the team’s first match in the ICC World Cup 2023. Hardik Pandya stated that he was unable to bowl during the game against Australia due to a minor blood clot and a bruise.
Hardik Pandya suffered an injury to his hand while attempting to field a shot by David Warner. Despite the injury, he continued to play and bowled two overs, conceding 21 runs. He later returned to the bowl with a taped finger and dismissed Adam Zampa in 49th over.

Speaking ahead of the India-Afghanistan match in Delhi, Hardik Pandya expressed his readiness to face the challenge in the ICC World Cup 2023, despite his recent injury concerns.
“I wasn’t able to bowl much (due to his injury), but I am fine. It’s just a blood clot, a little bruise. There’s a lot of excitement around us, fans are supporting us and it’s a special feeling to be playing in home conditions. Looking forward to this challenge,” Pandya said.
Hardik finished with a bowling performance of 1-28 in three overs. He took a catch to dismiss Cameron Green in Ravindra Jadeja’s bowling. He also contributed with the bat, scoring an unbeaten 11 runs off eight deliveries to help India secure a six-wicket victory.
I Got A Lot oF Wishes In The Morning – Hardik Pandya
Hardik Pandya expressed gratitude for the birthday wishes he received from his teammates. He praised the team’s performance against Australia, particularly highlighting their bowling and their ability to handle pressure.
“They (team-mates) all know it’s by birthday, I got a lot of wishes in the morning and last night before I slept. We bowled well (against Australia), kept them under pressure while bowling and we used the conditions to our advantage. We were under pressure when we lost three wickets, but credit to Virat and KL for the way they absorbed all that pressure,” he added.
The star all-rounder is celebrating his 30th birthday on Wednesday, October 11. The right-handed batter would love to mark his birthday with a victory against Afghanistan, scheduled to be played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi today.
