Virat Kohli Dismissed For Duck Bengaluru

India batter Virat Kohli didn’t have the kind of outing he would’ve wanted at his second home ground at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore. The dead-rubber third T20I between India and Afghanistan is underway and the hosts are batting first after winning the toss.

India are having a testing time in the ongoing game. Afghanistan bowlers are keeping the intensity high with the ball and have put the opposition under pressure. After Yashasvi Jaiswal got out, it was expected that Virat Kohli would steady the innings but it wasn’t the case.

Virat Kohli bagged a golden duck and the entire Chinnaswamy went numb. Nobody expected the batter to perish like the way as he got out and it was a heartbreak for all the fans, who paid to see the homeboy in the Indian attire in the shortest format of the game.

During the 4th ball of the 3rd over, Fareed Ahmad bowled a short ball which Virat Kohli tried to slap. He attempted a pull but the ball only scooped up off the bat. The ball lobbed up and was easily taken by the man at mid-off.

It was quite unexpected to see Virat Kohli playing such a shot on the first ball. The batter tried to take on the bowlers right from the start but it didn’t pay off. This has been his comeback series in the format and he surely wouldn’t have wanted to have such kind of series.

Virat Kohli missed the first game due to personal reasons and returned in the second game. He played an aggressive knock in the Indore and ended with the knock of 29 runs. He tried to play with intent and batted with a high strike rate.

With the ongoing series being the last for India ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024, Virat Kohli would now want to make an impact in the IPL. The ongoing league will be crucial for him in the context of his selection for the tournament.

IND vs AFG: After Virat Kohli, Sanju Samson bags golden duck as well

After Virat Kohli got out, things got even worse for India as Sanju Samson too bagged a golden duck. The keeper-batter was playing his first game in the series after being on the bench for the first two games. It was an opportunity for him to assert his authority in the format.

However, Sanju Samson couldn’t get going as perished on the third ball off the 4th ball to Fareed Ahmad. He got out on a short ball that was outside off and was angled across. The keeper-batter tried to pull in an attempt to score quickly. But he got the top edge in the process.

The ball went high in the sky and was taken easily by Mohammad Nabi. With his wicket, India was left tottering at 22/4. However, after that skipper Rohit Sharma and Rinku Singh bailed the team out of trouble with their 100-run partnership.
