Australian spinner Nathan Lyon has named India's 'Big Three' wickets as he is gearing up for the highly-awaited Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25, which is already bringing in all the thrill.

With the five-match Test series beginning on November 22, the stakes can't get bigger as India look to complete a hat trick of Test series wins on Australian soil for the first time.

Following back-to-back victories in Australia on their past tours, Team India will enter the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 with an aim to complete the hat-trick of Test series wins later this year. However, Nathan Lyon has different plans for the much-anticipated Test series.

Nathan Lyon prepares for Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 with focus on India's 'Big Three' stars

Nathan Lyon has fixed his sights on the Indian captain Rohit Sharma, batting master Virat Kohli, and the explosive wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant as the most prized scalps in the upcoming Test series.

The seasoned off-spinner Nathan Lyon is aware that these three pillars of the Indian batting line-up are basically the biggest threats, and their dismissal would be crucial in shifting the favor in Australia's way.

But that focus on the star players doesn't take away from the fact that India has a strong batting depth, with young guns Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill in sparkling form.

With the Indian batting line-up looking stronger than ever, Lyon admitted that the challenge ahead is huge, but the hosts are pretty determined to break India's winning streak in the high-voltage Test series.

We can challenge their defense: Nathan Lyon

Nathan Lyon was quoted as saying by Star Sports: “Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Rishabh Pant are probably going to be the three really big ones. But then you have still got Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Ravindra Jadeja, and who else will come out—another five, I am not sure.

But it is a pretty amazing line-up they have got, so it is going to be a massive challenge. As I said, if we, as a bowling group, are good enough for long periods, hopefully, we can challenge their defense.”
