Former India spinner Harbhajan Singh hailed Suryakumar Yadav and said that he is an X-factor. Harbhajan Singh also said that Suryakumar Yadav reminds him of AB de Villiers. Yadav is part of the India squad in the ICC World Cup 2023.

However, his selection into the playing XI in every game is quite doubtful due to his inconsistent show in ODIs. Moreover, players like Hardik Pandya, Shreyas Iyer, and KL Rahul have been more reliable in the middle-order in ODIs.

Suryakumar Yadav Is An X-Factor: Harbhajan Singh

While speaking to India Today, former India off-spinner Harbhajan Singh heaped praises on Suryakumar Yadav. Harbhajan said that Yadav is an X-factor who can win India the tournament if he gets going.

“Looking forward to Suryakumar Yadav. He is an X-factor. If he gets going, he won’t just win you the match, but he will win you the tournament. If I were a selector, I would have SKY as the second player in my team after the captain”.

“Hardik Pandya is as good as anyone when it comes to hitting the ball and playing the normal game. I would play SKY if I were part of the team management. Who knows if they will play him or not?”, the former right-arm spinner said.

Harbhajan Singh also said that Suryakumar Yadav reminds him of South Africa stalwart AB de Villiers. He also said that he would be frightened bowling to Yadav now.

“I don’t know what it is about him. Today, I would be frightened bowling to him but not when I was at my peak. He reminds me of AB de Villiers. We need a player like him to play. Even if flops, I would still play him for the remaining matches”, the 43-year-old further said.
