Former Pakistan cricketer Basit Ali recently heaped praise on Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah for his ability to deceive batters on any wicket.

Basit Ali stated that Jasprit Bumrah will produce impactful performances regardless of the pitch, while other bowlers depend more on form and rhythm.

Jasprit Bumrah is considered one of the best pacers in world cricket due to his accuracy and effectiveness. Bumrah has played 195 matches across formats for the Men in Blue.

The right-arm pacer has taken 397 wickets for Team India in international cricket, including 12 five-wicket hauls.

Bumrah was named Player of the Tournament after helping the Indian team to victory in the T20 World Cup 2024.

The 30-year-old took 15 wickets in 8 games at an impressive average of 8.26 and an outstanding economy of 4.17. He was rested from India’s white-ball series following the World Cup.

Jasprit Bumrah's Action Is So Awkward He Can Decieve The Batters - Basit Ali

In a video shared on his YouTube channel, Basit Ali highlighted Jasprit Bumrah's ability to deceive batters regardless of the pitch conditions. Ali said that Bumrah uses slower deliveries effectively across formats, which makes him special.

"Even if you play Bumrah on a cement pitch, his action is so awkward he can deceive the batters. That is the truth. That is what I call him Boom Boom. Not the rest of the bowlers. The rest of them depend on their form and rhythm," Basit said.

"He comes in takes a wicket and then picks three in his next spell. He is very deceptive, his slower one is accurate. Usually, the deliveries you bowl in white-ball cricket, he picks wickets on such deliveries in the Test format. It is special," he added.

Jasprit Bumrah Set To Return For Upcoming Two-Match Test Series

Jasprit Bumrah was rested for white-ball tours of Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka. India won the T20I series on both tours but suffered a surprising 0-2 loss to Sri Lanka in the ODIs.

Bumrah was also rested for the Duleep Trophy to prepare for a busy Test season against Bangladesh, New Zealand, and Australia.

He will return for the upcoming two-match Test series against Bangladesh, set to begin on September 19.

Bumrah has been included in the 16-member squad for the first Test despite rest speculation. He will handle pace bowling duties with Mohammed Siraj, Akash Deep, and Yash Dayal.

The India pace bowling spearhead last featured in a Test match against England in the five-match series at home earlier this year.

He played four out of five matches in the series. Bumrah was the third-highest wicket-taker, with 19 wickets at an average of 16.89, as India secured a 4-1 win.

The MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai will host the first Test match between India and Bangladesh. India will play the second and final Test match at Green Park in Kanpur, starting on September 27.
