Former Indian leg-spinner Piyush Chawla revealed his ultimate all-time India ODI XI in an interaction on Shubhankar Mishra's YouTube channel. Chawla nailed a dream team by combining the golden eras of Indian cricket into one single formidable lineup in ODI cricket.

At the top of the order, Piyush Chawla picked two Mumbai legends, Sachin Tendulkar and Rohit Sharma, as the openers of his all-time ODI XI. Both were automatic picks given their skills, consistency, and incredible performances in the format.

He then picked the dynamo Virender Sehwag at No. 3 for his ability to change games and dominate the opposition bowlers. However, it was not Sehwag’s usual batting position, as the legendary batter played as an opener for India.

No. 4 is given to the modern batting maestro Virat Kohli, with an astonishing score of 13,906 runs at a massive average of 58.18 in his name. Chawla also picked the legendary all-rounders Yuvraj Singh and Kapil Dev in his all-time ODI XI. Given an indelible mark, they left with both bat and ball in Indian cricket.

Behind the stumps and finishing the innings, there can’t be a better option than the legendary MS Dhoni, known for his cool temperament and finishing games, in the former spinner’s dream XI in the ODIs.

The former Indian cricketer’s bowling attack was a blend of spin and pace, featuring the legendary duo of Harbhajan Singh and Anil Kumble—two of India’s all-time spin greats in ODI and Test cricket.

They knitted a spell of spin magic, to which batters remained confused during their era. Completing his bowling attack, Piyush Chawla went with the pace specialists Jasprit Bumrah and Zaheer Khan, deadly right-arm precision combined with the left-arm swing to complete his all-time ODI XI.

Piyush Chawla's dream team highlighted the rich cricketing heritage of India and would surely be the greatest ever to walk into a cricket field in the 50-over format of the game. Notably, he played 25 ODIs for India and took 32 wickets.

Sachin Tendulkar, Rohit Sharma, Virender Sehwag, Virat Kohli, Yuvraj Singh, MS Dhoni, Kapil Dev, Harbhajan Singh, Anil Kumble, Jasprit Bumrah, and Zaheer Khan.

Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah set for action in Bangladesh Tests

Meanwhile, Indian captain Rohit, alongside batting superstar Kohli and pacer Bumrah, will be seen in action in the upcoming two-match Test series against Bangladesh at home. The India vs. Bangladesh Test series will kick off on September 19 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

This will be Bumrah’s first assignment since winning the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 in the USA and West Indies with the Indian cricket team in June 2024. However, Kohli and Rohit played in the ODI series in Sri Lanka, where the Men in Blue suffered an embarrassing 2-0 ODI series loss to the hosts.

Bumrah is all set to play for the first time under the new head coach Gautam Gambhir and new bowling coach Morne Morkel, who already joined the Indian team in Chennai ahead of the first Test. The second and final Test will be held in Lucknow from September 27.
