IND vs BAN: Rohit Sharma rated superior to Virat Kohli by Sangram Singh for his selflessness

Indian wrestler Sangram Singh has picked Rohit Sharma over Virat Kohli as his favorite batter. Sangram reckoned that Rohit's "selfless" style made him such a great batter. However, the wrestler also picked Virat Kohli over Rohit Sharma in terms of fitness.

During a recent podcast, Sangram also praised fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah for the tremendous progress he has made over the years. All three players Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Jasprit Bumrah will be in action for India's upcoming Test series against Bangladesh.

Sangram Singh rates "selfless" Rohit Sharma over Virat Kohli in batting

During a recent podcast on Sports Yaari, Sangram Singh rated Rohit Sharma more than Virat Kohli as a player. He praised Rohit's selfless attitude while batting and his humble nature. However, Sangram was also quick to admit that Virat Kohli has better fitness than Rohit Sharma. According to him, Rohit can smash any bowling attack when he is in form.

"I like Virat Kohli because he is very fit and I like Rohit Sharma because he is a very good person and is a very big player. I have rarely seen a player like Rohit Sharma. I have seen some matches during the World Cup because I follow matches of a World Cup, irrespective of the game," Sangram said on the podcast.

"I followed the T20 World Cup (2024) and the ODI World Cup (2023) as well. I don't follow other things. When Rohit Sharma plays, it looks like the other team is small in front of him. That's why I like him a lot. Rohit is a bigger player (as a batter) but Virat has better fitness," he added.

Sangram Singh also claimed that Rohit is a selfless player and never plays for individual records. He also added that Virat is a different player.

"Rohit is a bigger player because he is a selfless player. He can tear apart any bowling attack when he is in form. Meanwhile, we can't match Virat's career graph. He is different. But Rohit never plays for his individual records. That's why he is one of the best. He also looks simple and humble and I like such people," he concluded.

Sangram Singh hails Jasprit Bumrah for his progress

Sangram Singh is an Indian wrestler, actor, and motivational speaker as well. He also heaped praises on Jasprit Bumrah for going on to become the best bowler in the world. He picked Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma as the best batters and Jasprit Bumrah as the best bowler in the world.

"I like (Jasprit) Bumrah a lot because he came from a small village and worked very hard to become the greatest bowler in the world. We can't judge anybody. I always see the positive style of everyone and go through their struggle," Sangram claimed.

"In the current crop of players, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are one of the best batters and Bumrah is the best bowler," he added.

Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Jasprit Bumrah were all a part of India's T20 World Cup team that won the trophy in the month of June. All three of them played key roles in India's historic triumph.

While Rohit and Virat have played just three ODIs against Sri Lanka since then, Bumrah hasn't played any competitive match. All three of them will appear in India's upcoming two-match Test series against Bangladesh beginning on September 19.
