IND vs BAN: Watch - Ravindra Jadeja Asks For 'Best Fielder' Medal After Taking Blinder

India National Cricket Team star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja grabbed an absolute screamer in the 17th match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 against Najmul Hossain Shanto-led Bangladesh National Cricket Team at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune on Thursday, October 19.

After taking the catch Jadeja was seen making some gestures while looking at the fielding coach T Dilip, who was standing near the boundary ropes. Jadeja seemingly gestured that he should win the medal for the best fielder this time around.

On the third ball of the 43rd over, Jasprit Bumrah bowled a slower delivery outside off-stump and Mushfiqur went for the cut. The ball flew towards the backward point where Ravindra Jadeja dived to take the screamer with both hands.

Jadeja???s outstanding work on the field helped India to remove the well-set Mushfiqur Rahim. The veteran wicketkeeper-batter was back in the hut after scoring 38 runs off 46 balls, with 1 four and 1 six.

After taking the catch, Jadeja gestured that he deserved to win the medal for best fielder, and T Dilip also clapped and appreciated the efforts of the all-rounder.

Notably, the Rahul Dravid-led coaching staff has started the tradition of giving the medal to the best fielder for every game in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 and so far Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, and Shardul Thakur have won it.

Earlier, Bangladesh won the toss and opted to bat first in the match. They were without the services of skipper Shakib Al Hasan as the all-rounder was ruled out of the fixture due to a left quad injury, he sustained injury during the New Zealand clash. India, meanwhile, fielded an unchanged playing XI.

Tanzid Hasan and Litton Das provided Bangladesh with a terrific start in the match and together they took the Indian bowlers to the cleaners. They added 93 runs for the opening wicket but after that, the Indian bowlers made a terrific comeback in the match. Team India picked wickets at regular intervals and reduced the Bangla Tigers to 201/6.
