India and England clashed with each other on Day 3 of the ongoing fourth Test on Sunday (25th February). The Jharkhand Cricket Association Complex was host to another fascinating day of cricket as another twist in the tale was on the fray.
Overnight batters in Kuldeep Yadav (28) and Dhruv Jurel (90) continued from where they left off and batted magnificently well. The duo frustrated the England bowlers and added 76 runs together before the wrist-spinner got out. After he got out, the keeper-batter took the onus to himself.
Jurel played some aggressive shots in his innings and missed his well-deserved century by just 10 runs. His wicket saw India ending their first innings on 307 runs, conceding a lead of 46 runs. For the visitors, Shoaib Bashir was the pick of the bowlers as he bagged a fifer, which was his maiden in FC cricket.
In the second innings, India started with Ravichandran Ashwin and the move paid off incredibly well. The off-spinner was right on the money with the ball as he removed Ben Duckett (15) and then sent Ollie Pope for a golden duck by trapping him in lbw.
Ravichandran further continued the carnage as he then removed the centurion of the first innings in Joe Root for 11 runs. Zak Crawley at the other end looked unfazed by the wickets falling at the other end as he kept batting aggressively.
Zak Crawley (60) hit a brutal half-century but the introduction of Kuldeep Yadav changed the game in India’s favor. The leg-spinner removed the opening batter with a peach and then followed it with a wicket of Ben Stokes that jolted England further.
ICYMI!

Rohit Sharma in particular looked magnificent as he slammed some perfect shots. The Indian captain was unbeaten at 24 runs off 27 balls whereas on the other Yashasvi Jaiswal was batting at 16 from 21 balls. The duo made sure that their team ended Day 3 on high.
At stumps, the hosts were 40 for no loss and were 152 runs away from the win. The opening duo of Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal would be hoping to get as many runs as possible early on Day 4 because the pitch will only get worse.
