IND vs IRE: "Comeback Series For Jasprit Bumrah And Prasidh Krishna" - Ravichandran Ashwin Emphasises Importance Of Ireland Series

Veteran Indian offspinner Ravichandran Ashwin believes that the upcoming three-match T20I series against Ireland is crucial for the national cricket team. Ravichandran Ashwin emphasized that fast bowlers Jasprit Bumrah and Prasidh Krishna are returning to the Indian cricket team.

Jasprit Bumrah has been appointed as the captain of Team India after recovering from his back injury, with Ruturaj Gaikwad serving as his deputy. Cricketers Prasidh Krishna and Washington Sundar, who missed several games due to their respective injuries, have also returned to the squad.

Very Important Time For Indian Cricket – Ravichandran Ashwin

In a video shared on his official YouTube channel, Ravichandran Ashwin emphasized the significance of the upcoming T20I series against Ireland, highlighting the comeback of Jasprit Bumrah and Prasidh Krishna.

“From an Indian team’s perspective, August 18-23 will be a very important time for Indian cricket. Are these 3 T20Is in India really that important?” Ashwin said.

“If you are thinking that way, then please change your thought process, because this series will be the comeback series for Jasprit Bumrah and Prasidh Krishna,” he added.

Bumrah has been sidelined from the action since September last year. He missed the Asia Cup 2022, the T20 World Cup 2022, and the World Test Championship (WTC) 2023 final.

Eagerly Waiting For Prasidh Krishna’s Comeback – Ravichandran Ashwin

The 36-year-old cricketer wished Jasprit Bumrah and Prasidh Krishna success and good health in the upcoming series.

“And as much as everyone is anticipating Jasprit Bumrah’s comeback, I am eagerly waiting for Prasidh Krishna’s comeback too since he has been in terrific form as for as white-ball cricket is concerned for India. My best wishes for both of them to come out of this series with lots of wickets and come out hale and healthy.”

Krishna last played for India during the August tour of Zimbabwe last year. The right-arm pacer also missed the entire season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023.
