Emerging Indian spinner Ravi Bishnoi expressed his excitement about the return of star pacer Jasprit Bumrah to international cricket after a long time. Ravi Bishnoi emphasized that everyone was waiting to witness Jasprit Bumrah’s consistent wicket-taking performance on the global stage.

Jasprit Bumrah was named captain of the three-match T20I series against Ireland after recovering from his back injury. The right pacer made his comeback in the first T20 against Ireland in Dublin on Friday, August 18. Bumrah led the team to victory in his captaincy debut in the T20 format.

“The type of bowler he is, the whole world has seen his bowling. It was his first match on his comeback after a long time.

His first delivery didn’t work out but the five balls after that, was fun to watch. Everyone was waiting to see this Bumrah, and it was fun to watch him bowl,” said Bishnoi.

The 29-year-old conceded a boundary off his first ball, but he quickly claimed two wickets in the same over. He delivered 16 dot balls within his allotted four-over quota, concluding with figures of 2/24. His exceptional bowling performance earned him the Player of the Match award.

India Registers Victory By 2 Runs In Series Opener

India won the toss and elected to bowl first in the series opener. Praisdh Krishna and Rinku Singh made their T20I debuts in the first match. The visitors troubled the home team’s batters with their bowling, limiting the opposition to 59-6 in 10.3 overs.

Barry McCarthy scored an unbeaten half-century, contributing to the team’s total of 139-7 in the allotted 20 overs. Krishna and Bishnoi also bagged two wickets each. Arshdeep Singh grabbed one scalp, while Washington Sundar went wicketless in his three overs.

Yashasvi Jaiswal (24) and Ruturaj Gaikwad (19) opened the innings and added a 46-run partnership in 6.2 overs. Jaiswal and Tilak Varma were dismissed in consecutive deliveries. India had scored 47-2 before the rain interruption and won the match by two runs.
