IND vs IRE: 'Maine Sanju Bhai Ko Bola Tha Pressure Interview Ka Hai Cricket Ka Nahi' - Rinku Singh

Indian batter Rinku Singh opened up about his first net session with the national team. He said that he enjoyed his first outing with the team and if gets an opportunity he will give his 100% to win matches for the team. 

India are all set to take on Ireland in the three-match T20I series, starting Friday (18th August). BCCI has given IPL performers a chance in the team under the leadership of Jasprit Bumrah, who will be returning from injury, and one of the notable names in the squad is Rinku Singh. 

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) batter Rinku Singh has been the most exciting batter in the league since the last two editions. He has been scoring runs consistently and his best came in the 2023 edition of the league, where he ended as the leading run-getter for his team, despite the presence of some big names. 

Rinku Singh mainly grabbed the headlines after he hit 5 sixes on the last five balls while chasing for KKR. He scored over 470 runs and was the mainstay for his team in the league as he carried them throughout the season and won them games from impossible positions. 

Rinku Singh was picked in the Indian team for the Ireland series and will also travel with the team to China for the Asian Games. He had his first session with the team ahead of the first T20I and was seen hitting the ball hard. He was asked about his maiden training with the national team by his teammate Jitesh Sharma. 

Replying to this, Rinku Singh said that he has no pressure from cricket and even told Sanju Samson that he only has the pressure of giving interviews. Speaking in a video posted by BCCI, he explained: 

“First training session was very good, I felt very good, weather was very great as well. Did some batting, fielding as well as bowling. If I get a chance to play, I will give my 100 per cent and win matches for India. 

“I met everyone and they told me to enjoy my game and not take pressure. I told Sanju (Sanju Samson) bhai that I have only have pressure of interview, and there’s no pressure related to cricket.”
