The India-Nepal Asia Cup 2023 match ended with India winning by 10 wickets. In the process, the Men in Blue managed to qualify for the Super 4s with two points from two league games. Nepal, on the other hand, are eliminated from the tournament. They lost their opening match against Pakistan.
India won the toss and opted to field first. Nepal after being rolled over by Pakistan in their first game came up with a much better batting performance against India. They were bowled out for 230 but not before their batters made the Indian bowlers work.
Nepal openers Kushal Bhurtel (38) and Aasif Sheikh (58) added 65 for the first wicket inside 10 overs. Shardul Thakur broke the partnership. The Nepal middle-order however, did not bow down to the challenge of the Indian bowlers and presented a challenge of their own.
Sompal Kami (48), Dipendra Singh (29), and Gulsan Jha (23) added key runs in the middle-order. Kami and Jha added 50 runs for the seventh wicket helping Nepal cross the 200-run mark. Ultimately they were bowled out for 230.
Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Siraj picked up three wickets each giving away 100 runs together in almost 20 overs. Mohammed Shami, Hardik Pandya, and Shardul Thakur picked one each. Kuldeep Yadav bowled a good spell of none for 34 in 10 overs. He was unlucky not to get a wicket.

Some teams would've lost 4-5 wickets by now. Some even lost. Good job India.

Ind progress to Super4s and Nepal will progress a lot in international cricket. So so impressive – Also not a team made up of expats unlike many other Asian teams – A passionate country that will regularly produce talent l. Now for opportunities which they should get .. #INDvNEP
