IND vs NEP: Gautam Gambhir Speaks On India's Clash Against Nepal, Says "I Wanted To See Three Fast Bowlers"

Former India player Gautam Gambhir opened up on India’s clash against Nepal on Monday (September 4th) at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy and said that he wanted to see three fast bowlers included in the playing XI.

While speaking on Star Sports, Gautam Gambhir said that he wanted to see three genuine fast bowlers included in the side and to check how the combination goes.

Gautam Gambhir said that everyone knows what quality Shardul Thakur brings to the table but Prasidh Krishna should have played the game against Nepal.

“Mohammed Shami and Prasidh Krishna. I wanted to see three fast bowlers, three genuine fast bowlers, and see how that combination comes. The most important thing is that we all know that what Shardul Thakur brings to the table. Yes, he can bowl one change, he can do a bit of batting at number eight. But yet India could have gone with Mohammed Shami and Prasidh Krishna in this game,” Gautam Gambhir said.

While speaking on Jio Cinema, Prasidh Krishna revealed how their training went at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru and said that they maintained clarity and had regular sessions to help physical and mental fitness.

Krishna revealed that the technique used in NCA helped the bowlers to recover faster and helped them to get fit for match conditions.

“Our sessions at the NCA were thoroughly productive. The clarity we maintained and the regular assessment of our physical and mental fitness helped us in achieving our rehabilitation goals. We initially concentrated on promoting overall well-being before transitioning into bowling practice. This approach ensured a steady recovery and helped in preparing us for match conditions,” Prasidh Krishna said on Jio Cinema.

India faced Pakistan in their first match of the Asia Cup 2023, however, the match was abandoned without any result after rain spoiled the game. India suffered at first but Ishan Kishan and Hardik Pandya made a strong partnership to help India excel in the first innings.
