The IND vs NZ semi-final 1 of the ICC World Cup 2023 will be played in Mumbai on October 15, Wednesday. The match starts at 2 pm IST. This is in many ways a rematch of the 2019 World Cup semi-final between India and New Zealand. The Kiwis beat India in that game.

This is the second time the two teams are facing each other in this World Cup. India won the previous IND vs NZ match in Dharamsala by four wickets in the league stage. However, the stakes are a lot higher in this game as it’s the semi-final and a knockout game at that.

India are on a nine-match winning streak. They defeated the Netherlands by 160 runs and are the only unbeaten team in this World Cup so far. However, the Indian team has been guilty of losing the previous two semi-finals of the World Cup and is looking to avoid a third defeat. Pakistan’s loss to England in their last league game meant that Kiwis became the fourth team to make the semis.

IND vs NZ contests in World Cups have been riveting in the past. Memories would go back to the 2019 semi-final loss for every Indian fan. Thus the fans are hopeful that India will turn things around this time especially playing at home. The head-to-head in ODIs between the two teams is pretty even with India winning 59 matches and New Zealand 50.
