IND vs PAK: Azam Khan gets involved in a stare fight with a Pakistan fan after his duck vs USA

Pakistan's new wicketkeeper batter Azam Khan got angry with a few fans during the PAK vs US encounter of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. Azam Khan was not happy with some fat-shaming comments that fans shared through posters inside the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas on Thursday.

Azam Khan is part of the Pakistan team in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. The right-handed batter cemented his place in the national side last year and was also picked for the T20 World Cup. However, the right-handed batsman has been trolled by fans for being overweight.

The Pakistan vs United States game was not a good start for both Babar Azam & Co and Azam Khan. Pakistan lost the match to the United States to witness the first upset of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.

Azam Khan got out for a golden duck in the match, losing his wicket to Nosthush Kenjige through LBW. After his dismissal, Khan got angry at some fans who fat-shamed him with posters. Have a look at the video below.

Earlier, commentators were confused as to why the 25-year-old batter expressed his anger over fans post his dismissal. Later, fans shared the exact posters on social media platforms; which revealed the whole story.

United States script history by defeating Pakistan

Meanwhile, Pakistan made a dismal beginning in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. The men-in-green lost to United States in the super over in a nerve-wracking clash.

Batting first, Pakistan failed to put up a powerful total against the United States. Opener Babar Azam slammed 44 while Mohammad Rizwan got out for 9 runs. Later, the former 2022 T20 WC finalists also lost Usman Khan and Fakhar Azam by single digits.

Later, Shadab Khan shattered 40 runs off 25 and Iftikhar Ahmed shattered 18 off 14 to revive the team's batting. Pakistan reached 159-7 in 20 overs with US bowlers Nosthush Kenjige (3) and Saurabh Netravalkar (2) showing teamwork.

Later, US captain and skipper Monank Patel slammed 50 while Andries Gous (35) and Aaron Jones (36) played crucial knocks during the chase. However, they could only level the scores till the final ball with Nitish Kumar smacking a boundary.

Although the US failed to chase down the target at first, they clinched victory in the super over with a 19-run target for the Pakistan team. Notably, it was the first-ever T20I game between both sides in international cricket.

Pakistan will now face India in their next game of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. After facing a duck in the opening game, Azam Khan would aim for a strong comeback in the next match.
