IND vs PAK: Eoin Morgan Highlights Crowd Challenge For Pakistan In Ahmedabad

Former England captain Eoin Morgan said that Pakistan will face a challenge while playing in front of an Ahmedabad crowd in the clash against India. Eoin Morgan also highlighted that the Hyderabad crowd offered support to Pakistan but it will not be the case in Ahmedabad.

India and Pakistan are set to square off in ICC World Cup 2023. The match takes place on Saturday, October 14 at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Rohit Sharma leads India while Babar Azam leads Pakistan.

Ahmedabad Crowd Will Be A Challenge For Pakistan: Eoin Morgan

While speaking to Sky Sports about the IND vs PAK encounter, former England skipper Eoin Mongan said that the Ahmedabad crowd will be a challenge for the Pakistan team. He said that they will need to hold their emotions.

“I have never been to an India-Pakistan game before and all you hear about is the atmosphere, the noise, the emotions, I think that will be the key to the whole lot of it. Whoever holds their emotions best, will perform the best,” Morgan said.

Morgan also highlighted that Pakistan got a lot of support in Hyderabad during the previous game against Sri Lanka. However, this will not be the same in Ahmedabad and the crowd will be challenge for a the team.

“Pakistan are coming from Hyderabad where they had a record run chase and the confidence is high, Rizwan said in his press conference that the atmosphere there felt like Rawalpindi with the support that they had”.

“So going from Hyderabad to here [Ahmedabad] is going to be defining. If they hit a four and take a wicket, there’s gonna be absolute silence. So they will need to address that, it is very difficult to break habits that you are used to getting from a reward, it will definitely be a challenge,” Eoin Morgan further said.

India has defeated Pakistan 7 times in ODI World Cups in the past. Both teams have won two games in ICC World Cup 2023. Pakistan defeated the Netherlands and Sri Lanka in their first two games. India defeated Australia and Afghanistan in their first two matches.
