Former Indian cricketer S Badrinath was slammed by fans on Twitter (X) after he trolled captain Rohit Sharma for his dismissal against Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2023 encounter at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Pallekele.
India captain Rohit Sharma didn’t have a great outing in the game against Pakistan as he was back in the hut for 11 runs. It’s fair to say that he couldn’t have done much on the ball that he got as Shaheen Afridi delivered the ball of the match to dismiss him.
Shaheen Afridi bowled two outswingers and then brought one back in. He bowled a length delivery around off and the ball nipped in sharply to beat Rohit Sharma’s defence. The ball went between the bat and the pad to toss up the off stump and send the Indian skipper packing.
As Rohit Sharma got bowled, S Badrinath seized the opportunity to take a dig at Rohit Sharma. He compared the picture of the Indian skippers’ wicket with a scene from a Tamil movie. He added that it is just for fun as the two pictures are identical.
Here’s S Badrinath’s tweet:
Too identical (the shot I meant ?) #JustforFun #INDvPAK pic.twitter.com/XB0LhWHlxM

Coming to the match, Pakistan left India tottering at 66/4. But after that, Ishan Kishan (82) and Hardik Pandya (89) stitched a valiant 138-run partnership to bail India out of trouble. Their valuable contributions powered India to a total of 266 runs. The second innings didn’t take place as the game was called off due to rain.
IND vs PAK: Fans on Twitter Slam S Badrinath for trolling Rohit Sharma
As S Badrinath took a jibe at Rohit Sharma for getting dismissed, fans on Twitter slammed the former Indian cricketer. They lashed out at the ex-CSK batter, saying that as a part of the Indian team earlier, he shouldn’t have commented something like that. Here are some of the reactions:
Can't believe this is coming from a person who has played the sport. Just unbelievable man.

Rohit Sharma's third-highest score in ODIs (208*) is greater than former cricketer Waterboy Badrinath's lifetime international career runs, which total 185. https://t.co/tWPG8QHRGt
