Babar Azam, the Pakistan skipper was criticized heavily after his team suffered an embarrassing loss to the USA. With the bat, he scored 44 off 43 balls while batting first and did not give the innings the momentum it needed. In the end, Pakistan ended up scoring 159/7 which turned out to be below-par
In the field, he did not take wise decisions concerning the bowling changes he made. Shadab Khan and Shaheen Afridi did not take wickets with the ball. The call to give Haris Rauf the final over of the match also proved costly.
Mohammad Amir bowled a brilliant 19th over giving away just six runs and leaving 15 for Haris Rauf to defend in the final over. Unfortunately, the match went to the super over, and there too he did not make the right decision as the skipper.
He Iftikhar Ahmed to take the strike in the super over. It was a surprising call from the captain as he did not send Fakhar Zaman to the strike and he was at the other end. Former Pakistan cricketers felt that Fakhar being a left-hander could have made better use of the angles bowled by left-arm pacer Saurabh Netravalkar. In the end, he successfully defended the target and the USA notched up a memorable win.
Yuvraj Singh through his tweet highlighted the same thing and pointed out that it was a mistake on Babar's part.

"I don't understand why dint @FakharZamanLive take strike to a lefty seamer - when it is easier for a left hander to hit through the angle that bowler is tryin to create," wrote Yuvraj on X (formerly Twitter).
He further congratulated the USA team and their skipper Monank Patel for pulling off a heist.
"Nonetheless have to give it #TeamUSA @usacricket for making smart decisions under pressure specially the captain Monank Patel. Now, Pakistan needs a must-win against India and they surely need to bat and field better!" wrote Yuvraj.
He further said that it would be difficult to beat India saying "With India's strong start, it's gonna be hard to beat us !" to conclude his point.
The mood in the Pakistan camp and the USA camp was totally opposite after the game. Babar Azam coped with a lot of criticism as skipper. Former cricketers said that Pakistan players' shoulders dropped even before losing the match. They even blamed the body language of the players which was not competent enough.
Pakistan next plays India on Sunday (June 9) followed by Canada (June 11) and Ireland (June 16). They cannot afford another loss if they are to make it to the Super 8s.
