IND vs PAK: Harbhajan Singh Heaps Praise On Suryakumar Yadav, Says 'He Can Do What MS Dhoni And Yuvraj Singh Have Done'

Former India spinner Harbhajan Singh heaped praise on Suryakumar Yadav and said that the the Mumbai Indians star player can do what MS Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh have done for the Men in Blue.

While speaking on Star Sports, Harbhajan Singh said that batting in the middle order is the toughest and praised Suryakumar Yadav by saying that he can do best in the middle order.

“Batting in the middle order is the toughest. Opening in one-dayers, you know where to score runs. You have a lot of time. But when you go in to bat after 20-25 overs, you need the game to know where you can find gaps to get boundaries and I don’t think anyone in the Indian team can do that better than Suryakumar,” Harbhajan Singh said.

Harbhajan Singh said that if he had power in his hand, then he would have played Suryakumar Yadav in the team. The former off-spinner added that SKY can easily hit 50-60 runs for which he should be included in the team and the management cannot waste time by keeping him out. The former India player further praised Suryakumar and said that he is a complete player.

“And if it was up to me, I would play him in the team. Because when he is in the team, it increases the pressure on the opposition. Whether he fires or not. Because till the time he is at the crease, there will be pressure because on any day he can play a match-winning innings. He can hit 50-60 runs in 20 balls. So you have to play a player like this. You can’t waste him by keeping him out. I feel Suryakumar Yadav is a complete, complete player,” the former India spinner.

Picking Suryakumar Yadav over Sanju Samson is the right call: Harbhajan Singh

Harbhajan Singh spoke on Sanju Samson’s snub from the Men in Blue squad for the upcoming ODI World Cup and said that choosing Suryakumar Yadav over him is the right decision.

“I don’t think the selectors have been harsh on Sanju Samson. I do feel Sanju is a very very good player, a quality player. But you can only select fifteen players. But picking Suryakumar over Sanju is the right call. What he can do at that position, neither Virat Kohli can do, nor Sanju or Rohit Sharma. Because what he does it’s a difficult job, batting at 5-6. What MS Dhoni has done, what Yuvi (Yuvraj Singh) has done,” Bhajji added.

In the high-voltage match of the ODI World Cup 2023, India will lock horns with Pakistan on October 14th at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
