Pakistan wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan has said that Pakistan pacers are gifted bowlers and can pose a threat to not only India but to every team. Mohammed Rizwan also lauded the trio of Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah, and Haris Rauf for helping the team to reach the No. 1 rank in ICC ODI rankings.

His words arrive after all of them showed marvellous form against India in the previous clash of Asia Cup 2023. Shaheen Afridi picked 4 wickets while Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf picked 3 wickets each. They also bundled out India for 266. However, the match ended with no result.

Interestingly, an old Twitter trend (now X) went viral on social media during the IND vs PAK encounter. The Trend ‘they can’t play him’ went viral for the first time during the ICC T20 World Cup 2021. In the match, Shaheen Afridi dismissed India’s openers Rohit Sharma (0) and KL Rahul (3) for cheaply. Later, he also dismissed Virat Kohli after he scored a fifty.

When Afridi dismissed Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in quick succession in the recent IND vs PAK clash of Asia Cup 2023, the trend again started trending on Twitter (now X). When Mohammad Rizwan was asked about the same, he said that Pakistan pacers are gifted bowlers.

“Our fast bowlers have played a crucial role in taking us to the No. 1 spot. And the three fast bowlers we are talking about are not just going to pose difficulty for the Indian top-order but for every team. They are gifted bowlers. And if you look at our bench strength, that is also very good, and that is why we have risen to the top,” the wicketkeeper-batsman said.

Indian Batters Have Not Faced Out Bowlers A Lot: Rohit Sharma

Rizwan also added that Indian batters have not faced our bowlers a lot. He also added that India has a good bowling attack that will challenge their batters too.

“Their (India’s) batters also haven’t faced our bowlers a lot. They lost early wickets, but they put close to 270 on the board. Similarly, we will also have plans when their bowlers come up against us.

India has a good bowling attack, including some of the world’s best, who will obviously challenge us. But as professionals, we should be ready with the answers,” Rizwan added.

Meanwhile, India vs Pakistan clash of Asia Cup 2023 is set to take place today. The venue of the encounter is R Premadasa Stadium in Sri Lanka. Pakistan won the toss and opted to bowl first in the match.
